WANT PILATES THAT MEETS YOU WHERE YOU'RE AT?
(Not "Figure It Out Yourself" Pilates)

You’re ready to start pilates training, but in the back of your mind is…

  • Will I look stupid?
  • Is this right for me?
  • I’ve never done this before…
  • I need clear instructions at my pace as I am learning…
  • I don’t “love” training… what if I hate this?
  • I’ve seen pilates, it looks too hard…
  • I don’t want to train with young, flexible 18 year olds…
  • I have a dodgy hip/knee/back and I can’t afford to hurt myself…

Wouldn’t it be great if you could join a friendly community that empowers you and uplifts you everyday?

Would you like the fun and motivation of a group  class that’s small enough to get personalised attention?

You need to know if we’re the Pilates studio for you, we get it!

That’s why we created the Over 60’s Reformer Pilates Program: 28 days to experience what we’re all about, with no pressure to continue and all the support you want. You’ll get everything you need to ease in, feel better, and build a routine that works for real life.

Here’s what’s included when you start:

  • 2 classes per week to use across 28 days – enough to explore, experiment, and find your rhythm.
  • Small class sizes (max 10 people) so you’re seen, supported, and guided with care
  • Access to an over 60’s class style – nice flowing movement, open to all levels of fitness, adaptable to every injury, ailment of stiffness that you experience
  • 45-minute, full-body sessions focused on building strength, mobility and confidence in your body
  • Expert teachers who meet you where you’re at and know how to guide you forward – whether you’re brand new or have years of experience

Your 28 days aren’t just about “trying us out.” They’re about finding your feel better fit, exploring movement in a way that feels safe and satisfying, and starting a practice that could change the way you feel in your body – for good.

WHAT OUR Clients ARE SAYING

Frequently asked questions

Why Have A Dedicated Seniors Program?

Many of our clients need Reformer Pilates. The origin of pilates was based upon dancers and athletes, and to be honest, many movements are not suited to the ageing body. So we have created safe and effective variations of the pilates moves that allow you to gain the benefits without compromising form or risking further pain and injuries. This class is at a slightly slower pace, with a few sneaky water breaks to make it effective, smooth and enjoyable for ageing bodies.

What If I Can’t Get Into A Class Right Away?

Your 28 days start from your first booked class, so you’ve got time to find the right fit for you without losing any time from your intro period.

Do I Need To Do A Beginner Class?

Before your first class, you will come in for a KT Induction. What is the induction you ask?

It’s a dedicated session with you and our lead instructor Melinda, who will take a history of your exercise experience, then re-introduce you to your core muscles so that you are confident in what muscles to work and how to make them work.

This is then followed by:

  • an introduction to the reformer, whereby you’re guided on how to use it
  • how to get on and off it
  • how to get into positions safely
  • how to change tension levels
  • and any other questions you may have about its use.

This ensures that you’re confident to perform pilates prior to your first class.

What Do I Wear?

Comfortable training clothes.

Whether this is tights, a singlet, a baggy shirt, whatever you like that you feel comfortable to move in and sweat in (some exercises will make you sweat…)

Socks are compulsory on our reformers, ideally sticky socks and if you don’t have any, that’s not a problem, we can organise a pair for you on your induction.

Will The Instructor Correct Me?

We will always give you guidance to help you get the best out of your workout, but we don’t need your movement to look like anything in particular – we’ll give options and you’ll take what is right for you.

Corrections happen via verbal cues, visual imagery or if needed a tactile touch.

For example: If we need to correct your head position, we may say “head tall, like you’re wearing a crown, shoulders back and down like you’re squeezing a banana between your shoulder blades” and if needed, we may give you a little squeeze between your shoulder blades for you to feel what needs to be corrected.

How Much Does This Program Cost?

Our Fall Prevention Pilates Program is based upon 2 classes per week. Why 2? To be honest, 1 class a week is not going to provide enough benefit and more than 2 a week may not fit into your schedule. We constantly hear that you’re busier now than when you worked full time…

Our membership is priced at $48/week for the 2 classes. You can pause or cancel at any time, there is no minimum commitment, and we have capped the class size to 10 people only (as it allows us to completely focus on your form and your movement).

How Long Are The Classes?

Our classes run for 50 minutes. This includes a 5-8 minute warmup, followed by a full body pilates workout (with focus on core and pelvic muscles) until the 45 minute mark. We then conclude each class with a guided stretch to have you leaving feeling fantastic. Plus… with Sonoma next door, you can then have a coffee with your training friends before enjoying the rest of your day.

What If I Am Not Fit Enough?

Fitness is not an issue, This program is designed for beginners (regardless of your fitness level or previous training experience). Each class caters to you, with variations to make each exercise easier (if you find it too challenging) or harder (if you’re after a nice muscle burn). You will notice your strength and balance improve within 28 days of starting reformer pilates with us.

What If I Have Injuries Or Have Had Surgery?

We have Clinical Reformers that sit approximately 35cm off the floor. This makes getting on and off and moving around the reformer easier and safer (plus it helps with less than perfect knees and hips). This also allows for any replaced hips and knees to work in a safe environment. If you have any other injuries, our instructor will always ask at the start of every class for you to notify them. They will then cater the moves to suit your body. And as everybody is different, you won’t feel left out.

Do I Need To Speak With My GP?

In short, no. However, if you have any persistent ailments, have had a history of a chronic condition or are auto-immune compromised, it may be worthwhile having a quick chat with your GP. You can also speak with one of our team (we specialise in musculoskeletal health and have seen almost every condition enter our studio and train). We also know most doctors in the area and can speak with your GP also if needed.

Where Did Kt come from?

KT is inspired by the Japanese term Kintsugi. Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, highlighting the cracks rather than hiding them. It embraces flaws and imperfections as part of an object’s unique history, making it more beautiful and resilient because of what it’s been through.

At KT Health & Wellness, we’ve woven the philosophy of Kintsugi into our Reformer Pilates approach. We believe strength isn’t about perfection, it’s about rebuilding with care, confidence, and purpose. Whether you’re recovering from injury, rebuilding your body, or just beginning your journey, we help you move safely, celebrate your story, and become stronger through it.
