KT Health & Wellness is located in the Sutherland Shire and provides Osteopathy and Osteopathic Treatments to our local Sutherland Shire & St George community. KT Health was established in 2021. originally based in Illawong, we relocated to Menai to expand beyond Osteopathic Services to include a Reformer Pilates Studio within our premises.

Reformer Pilates strengthens weak muscles while promoting ideal spinal alignment (which does in the exercise world what osteopathy does in the manual therapy world.)
What is osteopathy in the sutherland shire?
Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy like physiotherapy and chiropractic. Traditionally Physiotherapy is focused on function and Chiropractic is focused on structure (the spine). Osteopathy combines the structure and function of the body in our methodology, thereby treating both the spine and the skeletal system in combination with the function of the soft tissues (like muscles, tendons and ligaments).

On your first session, your Menai Osteopath will take your case history to establish when your pain first started, what your symptoms and concerns are and how they may have changed over time. They will also discuss the treatments (if any) you have received to date and the impact your pain may be having on your life.
After learning and summarising the history of your pain, your practitioner will carry out a hands-on examination and assessment which comprises of various tests of the muscles, joints, spine and nervous system.
After identifying the underlying cause/s (which may or may not require a referral for imaging), your practitioner will set some treatment goals, with the overarching goal being to restore maximal, pain free movement to your muscles and joints.

How is Kt health & wellness different to other clinics?
KT Health & Wellness was inspired by the Japanese term Kintsugi which means “to mend what is broken with gold”.
As the story goes, a Japanese emperor had his favourite teapot smashed. This pot was sent to China to be mended and was mended using staples that removed the aesthetic appearance from the pot. The emperor wasn’t thrilled about this and asked for a modification.
Chinese claymakers then collected all of the broken pieces and glued the teapot back together piece by piece but added gold dust into the glue for aesthetic appeal. This created a beautiful, resilient and unique teapot that also allowed the break to become part of the story.
This inspiration is what Dr Luke Madden brought into KT Health & Wellness.
We take each individual, collect their history and then “mend what is broken” or what we would call dysfunctional. This allows us to take a unique approach as all aspects of your history are factored into our consultations and from the injury or pain that brought you in we can create a unique treatment plan tailored to you to embrace what you presented to us with and create a strength out of dysfunction.
This is achieved via our wellness space (a beautiful clinic that appeals to your senses and creates a calming and welcoming space without the look of cold treatment centre/facility), our infrared sauna (to detox your body, remove inflammation and energise your cells), our treatment space ( to correct the pain causing factors and re-establish normal movement and better quality movement of the body while eliminating pain) and our pilates studio (to make you strong from the inside out while encompassing a full body workout and better function of your musculoskeletal system).
Every aspect of your treatment journey has been factored into KT Health & Wellness and our clinic is unmatched within the Sutherland Shire.
